While Biden Hypes Threat of 'White Supremacy,' Two Mass Shootings in America Were Committed by Radical Leftists This Week
“Hate will not prevail. And white supremacy will not have the last word.”
President Biden this week seized on the opportunity to condemn the obvious: The Buffalo mass shooting that killed 11 people, mostly black Americans.
“Jill and I bring you this message from deep in our nation’s soul: In America, evil will not win — I promise you,” Biden said. “Hate will not prevail. And white supremacy will not have the last word.”
If that’s the case, we can trust authoritarian leftism won’t prevail, either. Because that’s exactly how the deranged Buffalo mass shooter described his worldview.
Payton Gendron, the suspect, described himself as "mild-moderate authoritarian left."
Not a word has been uttered in the shamelessly corrupt media about Gendron’s radical leftist views. White supremacy? That’s the headline drowning out the inconvenient details.
The Buffalo shooting seems tailor-made to further the narrative that white supremacists are an existential threat to America; but this is because it has garnered the lion's share of headlines.
If anything, the known facts of the Buffalo case demonstrate the left's argument that 'white nationalism' is the exclusive purview of the far-right rests on feet of clay.
The shooter even appeared to wear the same Sonnenrad (or 'Black Sun') symbol on his chest as the neo-Nazi battalion Azov that is fighting in Ukraine. It is further indication that the ideological boundaries that the media use to keep people divided are not entirely reflective of political reality.
Left-wing pundits have also desperately tried to rope in the Kyle Rittenhouse case, despite his acquittal for acting in self-defense and the attackers he shot being white.
The same media that ignored the Bernie-backing, explicitly anti-Trump views of a mass shooter who actually tried to kill Republican Congressmen is even weaponizing the Buffalo shooting to attack Tucker Carlson (although the suspect was far from being a fan of Fox News).
Neither did the inconvenient facts of the Buffalo shooting case disway departing Congresswoman Liz Cheney from getting in the petty cheapshot that House GOP leaders purportedly 'enabled white nationalism.'
Attorney General Merrick Garland is even getting in on the action by meeting with NAACP President Derrick Johnson on Friday to discuss the purported dangers of white supremacy. The DOJ-NAACP summit falsely signals that white supremacy is the dominant extremist ideology in America (the way this hyper-partisan DOJ tells it).
But unbeknownst to the majority of the American public, there wasn’t just one mass shooting committed by an authoritarian leftist this week; there were two.
On Sunday, Chinese-born man named David Wenwei Chou, a 68-year-old resident of Las Vegas, claimed the life of one person and wounded five others at a California church. It could have been much worse if not for the brave actions of Dr. John Cheng, who lost his life putting an end to the assailants' shooting rampage.
Now there is a startling new development: Chou was found to have connections to a Chinese communist front group, as was reported by the Epoch Times.
"The man charged with killing one person and injuring five others after a Taiwanese service at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, California, was once a member of a U.S.-based group controlled by the Chinese Communist Party," the Epoch Times reported.
"Chou, a native of Taiwan, has close ties to the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification (CCPPNR), an entity under Beijing’s United Front Work Department (UFWD), a powerful Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agency charged with overseeing foreign influence operations," the report continued.
"On April 2, 2019, the CCPPNR established a Las Vegas chapter, with Chou as one of the directors," the report added. "He made a presentation with a banner calling for the 'eradication of pro-independence demons' on that day, Radio Free Asia reported."
"The CCPPNR was founded by the CCP in 1988," the report added as background. "Its primary mission, as stated on its website, is countering separatist movements such as those calling for Taiwan’s independence."
Chou's motive for committing the mass shooting was described in a hand-written note in Chinese he left on a car dashboard, as was reported by the L.A. Times.
"David Wenwei Chou, 68, of Las Vegas, left notes in Chinese in his car stating he did not believe Taiwan should be independent from China, said Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes," Times reported.
The U.S. media have written vague headlines about the church shooting while noting that the incident was a "hate crime," but that does not do the atrocity justice.
The victims were Taiwanese and the incident sadly occurred during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. It thus seems like the news media would be intensely driven to publicize the story.
Except there is a problem with the narrative: The suspect isn't a 'white supremacist.' Nor is he one of the many African-American assailants who have been charged and convicted for attacking Asian-Americans.
Thus, it very well may be that there were two mass shootings in America, both were committed by authoritarian leftists, and both were labeled “hate crimes.”
But the narrative will stand that only white supremacy is a grave threat to America, and radical leftists had nothing to do with it — while the exact opposite is the case.
This is how the radical left avoids the same kind of scrutiny as the far-right gets in the U.S. media: The misleading coding of terror events in databases, as well as selectively biased news coverage, leads to general ignorance about the threat it poses to the country.
One might point to Black Lives Matter as an example of a Marxist-led group that has avoided scrutiny, despite its leaders apparently siphoning off millions in funds. The riots that were launched in the wake of national tragedies like the George Floyd death in Minneapolis led to billions of dollars in damages and approximately two dozens deaths.
Beyond such a complicated matter of BLM's inherently violent tendencies, since the overwhelming majority of the group's supporters are non-violent, is the issue of the Supreme Court bracing for volatile protests in the wake of a leaked draft majority opinion that is set to strike down landmark abortion cases Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
The Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday issued a carefully parsed memo that there are potential threats to the public and members of the Supreme Court in response to the national abortion debate, "including threats of burning down or storming the US Supreme Court and murdering justices and their clerks, members of Congress and lawful demonstrators," as CNN reported.
The DHS memo warns that "domestic violence extremists and criminal actors have adopted narratives surrounding abortion rights to encourage violence, likely increasing the threat to government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel and facilities and ideological opponents."
However, the DHS is not shooting straight: There is no reason to believe that anti-abortion activists would violently protest against the Supreme Court for striking down landmark abortion precedents. It defies basic logical deduction, but is consistent with DHS's track record of politicized statements that paint the American right with the 'dangerous' broad brush, but downplay the threat posed by leftists.
Intelligence officials nonetheless claimed people "across a broad range of ideologies are attempting to justify and inspire attacks against abortion-related targets and ideological opponents at lawful protests."
"We assess that the broader ideological spectrum of potential DVEs (domestic violent extremists) linked to recent abortion-related threats likely seek to target a range of individuals and entities," the officials wrote in the memo first reported by Axios. "Historically, violent acts related to this issue were primarily committed by abortion-related violent extremists that opposed abortion rights. Going forward, grievances related to restricting abortion access could fuel violence by pro-choice abortion-related violent extremists and other DVEs."
Thus, the rise of left-wing extremism is a serious threat development that is being downplayed by the Biden administration, including the Department of Homeland Security.
That the radical left would be protected from scrutiny is no surprise; however, the trend of ideologically left-wing political violence is one that should be duly noted.
