USAID Employees SUE Elon Musk and DOGE Over His 'Slash-and-Burn' Approach to Cutting Government Spending
"Musk has been openly critical of USAID on X, describing it as a 'viper’s nest of radical-left Marxists' and advocating for its dissolution."
Disgruntled ex-employees at the shuttered U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for wrongful termination.
The former USAID employees argues that Musk should have been confirmed by the Senate before assuming his role.
The White House has pointed out that Musk serves as a special government employee, exempt from many of the regulations that apply to traditional federal workers. Thus, Elon Musk serves as a special adviser to the president, just like Harry Hopkins under FDR, and similar to National Security Advisers since JFK.
DOGE operates under a revamping of the U.S. Digital Service that was founded under the Obama administration to update and modernize computer systems, particularly in light of the disastrous rollout of the Obamacare website. Since its inception, the department has been instrumental in shutting down various programs and agencies, including USAID.
But Democrat-appointed judges are fighting back with a vengeance to ensure bureaucrats are insulated from accountability.
The USAID lawsuit is the latest predictable attempt of the entitled bureaucratic class to shield itself from the results of the 2024 election.
