Trump's DOJ Declares War on Election Fraud — And No State Is Safe
"The Trump administration insists that these laws give the federal government not only the right but the duty to compel states to ensure voting integrity..."
The most aggressive federal effort to clean America’s voter rolls in modern history is now underway, and it is coming from an unexpected direction: the U.S. Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, led by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.
In less than a year, the department has sued both red and blue states — twenty-two in total — demanding they turn over full voter registration lists and comply with federal list-maintenance laws ahead of the 2026 midterms.
The result is an unprecedented confrontation between Washington and state election officials who, until now, have been accustomed to DOJ lawsuits preventing election integrity rather than demanding it.
