FBI Director Kash Patel, once a key figure in Donald Trump’s national security circle and a trusted voice in conservative media, is now facing a spiraling internal crisis and growing calls for accountability from both within and outside the bureau.

A blistering 115-page internal assessment, leaked this week, describes Patel’s leadership as chaotic, insecure, and self-serving.

The "internal assessment,” obviously crafted for public consumption by disgruntled members of the FBI, could easily be dismissed as a “hit job.” But the growing chorus of detractors from all political quarters suggests that it is illuminating.
