The FBI Ran 'Complex Web' of Extremist Group Informants Ahead of January 6 Riots
The Federal Bureau of Investigation betrayed its duty to protect the U.S Congress and to ensure national security, all in a desperate effort to ‘get Trump.’
The Federal Bureau of Investigation had dozens of informants in extremist groups planning to incite the Capitol riots on January 6, but did nothing to stop it.
The FBI’s informants were so widespread in these extremist groups, that they are getting unmasked in January 6 defendant’s trials.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) in the ongoing Zachary Rehl case would not tell a J6 defendant's attorney if the planned witnesses in the case were FBI informants.
The prosecution's refusal to disclose the critical information came after the government revealed that a planned witness had been an informant. The revelations come via a court transcript obtained by American Greatness’ Julie Kelly.
The defendants in the case are former Proud Boys National Chairman Enrique Tarrio and members Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Dominic Pezzola, and Zachary Rehl. The defendants are accused of allegedly participating in a seditious conspiracy plot to overthrow the U.S. government.
The DOJ said Wednesday that a defense witness for Enrique Tarrio, himself a prior FBI informant, had been a confidential human source (CHS) for the bureau from April 2021 to January 2023. Tarrio’s attorney, Sabino Jauregui, said at the Thursday hearing that he asked the DOJ if his next two witnesses were FBI sources as well, Kelly noted.
“You know what they told me?” Jauregui said. “Nothing. They don’t know.”
On Monday, Julie Kelly gave a curious update on the j6 defendant’s case.
“Update: After Judge Kelly rules that the FBI informant cozying up to defendants and their family members and repeatedly contacting at least one defense attorney wasn’t doing anything untoward, her role as informant is ‘irrelevant’ to jury. Defense then drops her as a witness,” she reported.
“Some records related to this informant are under seal and will never see the light of day,” she reported. “Plus, she told CNN she was hired as an informant in April 2021 to ‘mostly’ report on Antifa. But she ingratiated herself with PB and relatives after they were charged. No reprimand…”
The New York Times has identified the female source as Jen Loh, a former member of “Latinos for Trump.”
Loh, the FBI confidential source, reportedly had 20 to 30 communications with Biggs, his attorney, Norman Pattis, said at the Thursday hearing.
Loh said in a Friday interview that she provided “useful information” about leftist protestors to the FBI, and then informed the bureau about “any type of domestic terrorism — on the right or the left,” the NYT reported.
FBI San Antonio Special Agent Kristina Spindel swore in a Thursday statement Loh had given the FBI information as far back as fall 2019.
Pattis told presiding Judge Timothy Kelly the defense was “very close to a stipulation on as many as eight or nine other” FBI sources.
“There was a complex network of confidential human sources at the government’s disposal,” Pattis said.
“My biggest concern is the fact that we still have confidential human sources who are unknown to us, ” Rehl’s lawyer, Carmen Hernandez, said.
But Judge Kelly shot down a defense subpoena Tuesday for Proud Boys member Kenneth Lizardo. Kelly ruled that Lizardo had “a reporting relationship with the FBI” and had declared his intention to plead the Fifth if called to testify.
Lizardo was an associate of Tarrio who went with him to a Jan. 5, 2021 meeting in Washington, D.C., with Oath Keepers militia group founder Stewart Rhodes.
Rhodes was ultimately convicted on charges of participating in Jan. 6-related seditious conspiracy in November 2022.
According to the NYT, the FBI had up to eight informants within the Proud Boys group in the months surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. That includes a period of time both before and after the event.
Former Tennessee Proud Boys chapter leader Matthew Walter told the Times in February that around 20 other group members besides himself had FBI relationships around that time.
The FBI literally had dozens of informants in extremist groups ahead of the January 6 assault on the capitol. The nation’s highest law enforcement bureau knew what was coming and did nothing to stop it.
It is now becoming clear that the J6 event was a set-up. The Capitol Police officers held open doors for the protesters. The face of the Capitol Riots, the ‘QAnon Shaman’ Jacob Chansley, was paraded through the capitol to the Senate chamber to deliver his manifesto. There is even footage of plain clothes police officers acting as ‘agents provocateurs’ and cheering on the rioters.
The security was deliberately lax, as officials have testified, out of a concern for “optics.” Right, the “optics” needed to frame Donald Trump.
The FBI betrayed its duty to protect the U.S Congress and to ensure national security, all in a desperate effort to ‘get Trump.’
