The Epic Backfire Has Begun After Trump's 'Guilty' Verdict
"There are earthquake shifts in public sentiment that back up the assessment that Trump’s conviction is backfiring."
The Epic Backfire of Trump’s conviction has begun.
Former President Donald J. Trump was convicted of all 34 charges brought against him in New York in a political show trial that would make the Bolsheviks blush.
The “guilty” verdict appears to have stunned everyone except Donald Trump himself, who quietly made remarks to his lawyer Todd Blanche following the jury’s reading.
It took just two days of deliberations for 12 jury members to find Trump guilty of the charges, despite there being no clear underlying crime to justify making “falsification of business records” a felony offense.
The convoluted jury instructions, all 55 pages of them (the average is 5 to 6 pages) — which were not provided to the jury in written form — did not deter them from finding Trump guilty of all of the charges in expedited fashion.
It was as if the jury members were in a hurry to get the leading presidential contender convicted and behind bars as soon as possible.
Judge Juan Merchan made it clear that political timing was on his mind as he slated Trump’s sentencing for July 11th — just four days before the Republican National Convention.
If the RNC had any balls, they would move the convention to July 1st so that Trump could be nominated on the Fourth of July. How fitting would that be?
