NYC City Mayor Eric Adams Announces End to Covid Vaccine Mandates — But There's a Cruel Catch
"Beginning Monday, March 7th, we will be suspending the requirements under Key2NYC."
New York City's mayor Eric Adams on Friday announced a conditional end to Covid vaccine mandates and the "vaccine passport" known as the Key2NYC program. Speaking at Times Square, he delivered the news to New Yorkers.
"I'm glad to say that the rates are low enough, that the mandatory program is no longer needed, no longer needed: Adams said. "Beginning Monday, March 7th, we will be suspending the requirements under Key2NYC. And so folks can come in and enjoy, uh, the restaurants, enjoy the businesses and be a part of this great city without having to show proof of vaccination. So that means our restaurants, our businesses, and our concerts venues will no longer need to require patrons to provide this proof."
The New York City mayor also tweeted out the change in policy.
"So long as our indicators show a low level of risk and we see no surprises this week, on Monday, March 7 we will also remove the vaccination requirements for Key2NYC — meaning indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues," Adams tweeted. "We’re taking this week to give business owners the time to adapt while we monitor the numbers to ensure we are making the best public health decisions for the people of New York."
However, while the mayor is also lifting the indoor mask mandate on March 7, including for schools, he will continue to force-mask children under the age of five because they are 'not yet eligible for vaccination.'
Children under the age of 5 are statistically at zero risk from Covid-19 mortality. A total of 307 children have been recorded as 'Covid-related' deaths since the beginning of the pandemic out of approximately 20 million in the 0-4 age demographic. The CDC estimates that 95% of Covid-related mortality have underlying health conditions. A comprehensive review of studies on children found that Covid-related deaths are "incredibly rare."
In addition, between 60% and 80% of New Yorkers have Covid prior infections. A recent Johns Hopkins study found that 99% of prior infections led to robust natural immunity that lasted at least 650 days with no deterioration in effectiveness.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced an end to the state's school indoor mask mandate on Wednesday, March 2. However, while she claims this was due to recent CDC guidance, she let the mandate expire after a court had struck it down as unconstitutional.
Update: The NYC comptroller wants the mRNA shots mandated for children.
“NYC Comptroller wants to mandate C19 vaccine for kids to go to school next fall even though kids are at very low risk and vax doesn't prevent infection/ transmission,'“ Republican NY Governor candidate Rob Astorino tweeted.
“Enough of this nonsense,” he added. “Keep screwing up the city's finances and debt and Leave Kids Alone.”
One of their main goals is to get on the children's vaccine schedule. By doing so the vax will become mandatory to enter school and have permanent liability protection. These people always have a trick.
Per the article: He will continue to force-mask children under the age of five because they are 'not yet eligible for vaccination.' There's always a catch. We need to send a strong clear message at the polls in November-we demand freedom. Stop electing the socialist left and right candidates. No more "buts" and "ifs" to their policies and mandates.
