Special Counsel Jack Smith is having a "bad day."
A series of court rulings have upended the Department of Justice's intention to try Donald Trump for a number of alleged crimes prior to the 2024 election.
On Wednesday, Judge Chutkan admitted that she doesn't have jurisdiction over a case while a higher court is considering claims of immunity.
"Judge Chutkan agrees that she no longer has jurisdiction over Trump case while his immunity appeal is pending," Politico's Kyle Cheney reported.
"CHUTKAN adds, however, that the stay does not prevent her from enforcing his conditions of release, protective orders and gag order," the report added.
Trump’s March 4 trial date appears increasingly unlikely, despite Smith making every effort to maintain it.
