BREAKING: President Biden Finally Declares the National Covid Emergency is 'Over'
Biden signed into law House Joint Resolution 7, which officially ends the pandemic emergency.
President Joe Biden, after 1,120 days of slowing the spread, has finally declared the national Covid emergency "over."
Biden signed into law House Joint Resolution 7, which officially ends the pandemic emergency.
"On Monday, April 10, 2023, the President signed into law: H.J. Res. 7, which terminates the national emergency related to the Covid-19 pandemic."
In March, Biden angered Democrats with his announcement that he planned to sign the legislation after it was passed by the U.S. Senate.
The resolution formally ends a number of waivers for federal health programs Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP. The Biden administration had already set an impending deadline for both the national emergency and the public health emergency to end on May 11.
Health and Human Services, however, has planned for the Public Health Emergency (PHE) to expire in May.
“To be clear, the federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19 declared under section 319 of the Public Health Service Act, is not the same as the COVID-19 National Emergency declared by the Trump Administration in 2020 and implicated by H.J.Res.7,” CMS stated. “Therefore, an end to the COVID-19 National Emergency does not impact current operations at HHS, and does not impact the planned May 11 expiration of the federal PHE for COVID-19 or any associated unwinding plans. Even if the COVID-19 National Emergency were to end, any existing waivers currently in effect and authorized under the 1135 waiver authorization for the pandemic, would remain in place until the end of the federal PHE for COVID-19.”
Jen Kates, senior vice president and director of global health and HIV policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation, explained the waivers impact in a statement to The Hill.
“There are only a limited number of flexibilities tied to the national emergency declaration, such as waivers of some state Medicaid provider requirements,” Kates said. “It is also likely that states using such flexibilities have already ended them or are preparing to do so given the May 11 date. The bottom line is that the public is unlikely to experience any noticeable changes due to the ending of this declaration a month before the PHE.”
President Joe Biden had stated in an interview in September that Covid is “over.”
But four months later, after the White House did damage control, for the president, it was announced that the national emergency would expire in May 2023.
After three years of ‘slowing the spread,’ the Covid-19 emergency is finally “over.” It is unfortunate that the same cannot be said of the immense damage done to America.
Three years to accomplish two weeks to slow the spread. What an abused emergency act that wasn’t for our benefit, but extended for control and greed. Biden’s horrible mandates for two years should have opened everyone’s eyes to his true evil self.
Is he going to pay for all those who lost their lives and jobs and are forever injured by it? Can he please resign?
