BREAKING: California Passes Bill Banning Voter IDs
The California bill passed despite a significant percentage of American voters being concerned about illegal aliens disenfranchising them in elections.
The California legislature has passed a bill banning local governments from implementing Voter ID requirements for local elections.
Although California does not require IDs to vote, the City of Huntington Beach approved a voter ID requirement for its municipal elections starting in 2026.
The State of California had actually sued Huntington Beach to stop it from implementing the election integrity practice.
This new state bill would override Huntington Beach's policy.
California municipalities, including Santa Ana, are considering allowing non-citizens to vote in elections.
There are an estimated 2.5 million illegal aliens in the Golden State. 27% of California’s population is foreign born.
The state's lawmakers claim that basic election integrity measures like checking IDs and citizenship present "barriers" to voting and suppress voter registration.
“An overwhelming body of evidence proves that voter ID laws only subvert voter turnout and create barriers to law abiding voters,” wrote bill author State Sen. Dave Min. “To register to vote in California, voters are already required to provide their driver's license number, California identification number, or the last four digits of their social security number.”
Contrary to the left's talking points, many recent studies— published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences — find that voter ID has no impact on election outcomes or turnout.
In 2019 a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research that was based on turnout data from 2008 to 2018 concluded that voter ID laws "have no negative effect on registration or turnout, overall or for any group defined by race, gender, age, or party affiliation."
Black Americans, for example, do not believe that voter ID laws discourage or prevent them from voting.
The Democratic Party is continuing to assault election integrity at a time when tens of million of illegal aliens have entered the country who are not eligible to vote.
