Brazil’s federal police announced Thursday the indictment of former President Jair Bolsonaro and 36 others for allegedly plotting a coup to keep him in power following his 2022 electoral defeat.
The case has now been sent to the Supreme Court, which will decide whether Prosecutor-General Paulo Gonet will pursue formal charges.
